Of the hundreds of new crypto projects launched in recent months, there is one that caught my attention: Shopping.io. It is not a DeFi project but I decided to talk about it anyway since it is one of those projects that could seriously help adoption in the cryptocurrency world. This is not a sponsored post but a personal initiative of mine that I think will make happy many token holders, since the project in question allows shopping on some of the most famous sites in the world using CoinPayments as payment method, a service that can process payments in 100 different cryptocurrencies!
Shopping.io – Crypto Shopping Experience
The site is really simple to use: simply go to the homepage and you will be faced with a search engine where you can type in any keyword. For example: ‘Tablet’. At the end of the search, you’ll see lots of results divided into 4 tabs: Amazon, eBay, Walmart and AliExpress. The first three are already available and fully integrated into the service, while AliExpress will arrive at a later date. For each result, you’ll see a featured photo, the ‘more info‘ button (which links to the product page on the official website) and the ‘Add to Cart‘ button, from which you’ll access the checkout page where you’ll have to fill in your personal details and then proceed with the cryptocurrency payment. This is a service that has been missing and that could significantly help token holders to find a real utility in their tokens.
But it doesn’t end there! Another great option is the ability to order from Amazon, eBay and Walmart without the need to create accounts on these sites. Shopping.io handles all of this and you only have to worry about payment. Cool, isn’t it?
The service offers three types of accounts:
- Free: No discount available, Free Shipping to the USA and a limit of 20 orders in 30 days;
- Starter (you must have at least 1000 SPI tokens): 5% discount on many products, International Shipping available, access to a VIP group on Telegram and a limit of 50 orders in the last month
- PRO (you must have at least 2000 SPI tokens): 10% discount on Amazon, eBay and Walmart, International Shipping, access to a Telegram VIP group and a limit of 100 orders per month.
To be eligible for these premium accounts, it isn’t necessary to lock your SPI tokens, just hold them before placing any orders. This is a great way to bring value to their proprietary token, since many users will use the service and the circulating supply of the token will become very low!
The SPI Token – Since days first on DEXTools
The SPI token, which is only available in 1 million units, experienced a remarkable launch as it started at just a few cents (I saw it at 15 cents on DEXTools) and went over $3. According to CoinGecko, the low is 1.46, while the high is 2.43: this is only because the token was added a couple of days later, not on day one. Right now there are less than 700 token holders, but considering the potential of the project and its popularity (staying in the top 10 on DEXTools for days is an almost impossible feat), a market cap of 1.7M seems very low. Could this be the next hidden gem? The future will tell. Keep in mind that the Max supply and the circulating supply coincide, as all available tokens are already in circulation!
Some other things I could add about Shopping.io is that the team is public, there is a well-written Whitepaper explaining from A to Z the whole project as well as the token economy and that there is a registered company behind the website. Very rare things these days that instantly reveal that this is a serious project, not a scam like most of the projects launched lately. The token is freely tradable on Uniswap (about 2 million dollars of volume in the last 24 hours) and on the centralized exchange: Bilaxy! Happy Shopping!
